EXPORT CONTROLLED PRODUCT :
FLIR 320x240 60Hz and 30Hz Fast-Video and 640x480 30Hz Fast-Video (>9Hz) uncooled LWIR Thermal Camera Core products are export controlled and require validated export licenses from the U.S. Department of Commerce prior to export or re-export outside of the United States to certain countries.
Strategic Trade Authorized (STA) Countries are an exception. In circumstances whereby "RHP International" delivers a camera to a customer in the U.S. who intends to export or re-export the FLIR camera outside of the United States, whether or not the camera is integrated into another product, it is the customer’s responsibility to apply for the required export license from the appropriate department of the U.S. government. Diversion contrary to U.S. law is prohibited.

The Export Conditions page details information regarding what countries thermal cameras can be exported to.
When attaching this Interface, please use proper personal grounding (or grounding wrist strap) to prevent static damage to the module.
RHP-BOS-VPC-IF
Video Power Communication Interface

Simple Integration
The Low Profile Boson VPC Interface Module simplifies integration. Two alternate Video & Power connections on the Low Profile Boson VPC Interface Module allows for a variety of installation options.

FLIR Boson GUI Friendly
You can adjust all the parameters available on the FLIR Boson using the FLIR Boson GUI when connected to your PC via the supplied USB cable.

Reverse Polarity Protected
With the intelligent polarity sensing protection, the RHP-BOS-VPC-IF can be powered from the alternate 6-Pin JST ports to USB or a 5-26VDC power source
* Please Note: External Sync is disabled on Boson ≤9Hz Cameras.
The use of external sync on these cameras is not supported because pulses cannot be correlated to a specific output frame because of the way the reduced frame rate video is created. If attempted, the camera will reject commands to begin external sync mode.

Interface Assemblies Frequently Asked Questions
The FLIR Boson requires at least one interface board to allow Power and acquire Video from it's high-density connector.
The most popular board in our product list is the Low Profile VPC module. It allows for power input, streaming USB and composite analog video as well as controlling the cameras settings.
A complete list of accessories are available at: https://www.oemcameras.com/boson_accessories.
For video acquisition and control you will need to use the Boson Controller GUI 3.0 available from Teledyne FLIR.
With the RHP Boson interface boards, you may also use the RHP Boson GUI.
If the USB Sensor in the Teledyne FLIR Boson is not triggered (on startup) with the proper voltage for USB-3, it will default to USB-2.
There are three ways to correct this.
- Disconnect the device from the PC and reconnect.
- When powering from a PC, it is best to connect USB-3 after the computer has booted up.
- In some cases, the RHP-BOS-VPC3-IF can be modified to disable the voltage protection.
Please contact support before placing your order for this modification.
